An eagle may not carry its young on its back as today’s text implies, but we do know that our Good Shepherd is always carrying His sheep on His back. And we know that as an eagle watches overs its young, so our Heavenly Father watches over us. Another reality we have in this metaphor with eagles is that we were not created to live in a nest. We were created to fly. How is your Heavenly Father giving you wings to let your life be blown by the Holy Spirit so that you may fulfill your calling for Jesus’ sake?
As an eagle stirs up its nest, and hovers over its young, the Lord spread His wings, he caught them, he carried them on his pinions.
Deuteronomy 32:11 NASB
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:29 NIV
Abba Father/Papa Daddy, I am thankful to be the precious child you protect, carry, and help to fly. I know your voice and gain strength when you speak directly to me in my life. Focus me to snuggle closer to you and away from my fears. Keep me safe in your loving embrace. I love you, Papa. Amen.
