Cabin Conversation On Persecution (Psalm 25:19; Matthew 5:11 12) (Persecution)

The prayer journal for today has a dramatic testimony of a woman in Iran who was afraid of what she might say when persecuted. The story comes from a daily email I receive from pastor Leon Stier. His ministry is called Emailmeditations. It is a devotional website to help you grow closer to Jesus. These meditations on the Christian faith and life are sent daily to subscribers at no cost. He has created over 2500 of these messages and I just looked up the word “persecution” on his web site and found the story I posted in today’s prayer journal. Leon will also be speaking next summer at Mount Carmel. Consider spending a week at this beautiful place enjoying Leon’s messages.

Old Testament Verse

All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his decrees.

New Testament Verse

Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.
Matthew 5:11-12

Prayer

Steadfast Lord, you bless the paths I can't walk on alone. I need your steadfast love to enable me to walk where you want me to go. I depend only on your faithfulness. You strengthen me when I am cursed by those who despise you. Thank you for rewarding me with joy and gladness. Amen.
