Places of refuge help us rest in God’s grace. Herrnhut, in the photo, was such a place for hundreds of people seeking this grace. It began in 1722. You can read more about this place of refuge in the back of your “Daily Texts.” This space of grace sent out many people around the world to bring God’s grace wherever they were called. What spaces of grace have you known in your life? What does it mean for you to create a refuge for people you know so they may experience this space of grace in Jesus?
The Lord is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:30
Hoping against hope, Abraham believed that he would become "the father of many nations."
Romans 4:18
God of resilient hope, thank you for opening a world of promise like you did for Abraham and Sarah. When your brilliant possibilities are hidden from me, draw me deeper into your covenantal love. Shield me from my own doubts and internal resistance. Help me to trust your protection so I can do something brave in your name. Amen.
