Download the prayer journal for today and use it as a devotional for your Thanksgiving meal. The verses from the Old Testament are filled with hope. Sharing these verses together will lift your spirits and help you experience thanks for what Jesus declares to you instead of what your circumstances say. Thanksgiving in Jesus’ name is grounded in His grace that we receive from Him through His word. This week the verses that were chosen three years ago all carry a word that will fill you with the bread of life from heaven, hope! Happy eating the word of God!
In distress you called, and I rescued you.
Psalm 81:7
When Peter noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him.
Matthew 14:30-31
God of abundance, thank you for rescuing me from distress. Keep my fears from getting the best of me. When I open a new door, remind me that you are on the other side. I am always in good company when you are with me. Help me to bring hope to any hand that reaches out to me. Amen.
