Gracious God, I give thanks today because my hope is in your faithfulness and not in my own faith or ability. Our human failures darken history, but in Christ I believe that your mercy will extend beyond these sinful deeds. Your forgiving power creates hope now and for eternity, which makes me sing of your goodness now and forever. Amen.
