In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Loving God, my heart is filled with gratitude. You loved me before I knew you. Even now my chronic disease of trusting in myself separates me from you. But you heal me as I receive the forgiveness of your beloved Son on his cross. Speak to me today, Lord. Pronounce your forgiving word again. Amen.
