Merry Christmas means you have joy because of Christmas. You are merry. The joy comes from knowing that Jesus who was born on this day came as a gift with your name on it. Christmas becomes merry or joyful when we believe that Jesus came for you…that He came for me. Believing this changes our life. We become merry and bright because of the One who was born this day for us. And we stay that merry way all year through because our Lord never leaves us and keeps filling us with His joy. He tells us, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11). (TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS PROMISE, CLICK ON THE PRAYER JOURNAL FOR TODAY. Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored; renew our days as of old.
Lamentations 5:21
To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Jesus, Messiah and Lord, my heart sings with the joy of Christmas. You left your heavenly home and were born to restore and renew your people. I am humbled and grateful that you deliver believers from sin and establish us in your eternal kingdom. Thank you for the gift of a new heart that will last forever. Amen.
