Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00(Mission Cast) Returning To Give Thanks (Psalm 95:6; Luke 17:16) (Thanksgiving)
Jeff and Mim explore worship as gratitude. The mercy and grace that we receive in Jesus Christ is turned into praise as we experience the love and presence of Christ himself. Worship is not dependent on our circumstances or problems solved. We can worship even during the storms of life, because worship focuses on Jesus, the Giver of Life, and His presence. He is Emmanuel, God with Us, and He will never leave or abandon us. Jeff and Mim also share personal stories of mercies received from strangers and the missional challenge to “pay it forward” to others.

00Our Muddy Response To Our Father’s Voice (Job 10:12; John 9:11) (Justification)
The Old Testament verses since this past Sunday give us several messages from our Heavenly Father. The above texts reveal how our Father blesses us. On the page for the Friday texts there is a suggestion for you to write out a prayer of thanks for what you have heard this week from God. Take time today to write this out. Also share the prayer. You will hear Sonja and Johan read their prayers of thanks to our Father. Write one out today. Make it as a long as you want. It is your privilege to write a thanksgiving prayer to your Father using the words that God has spoken over you.

When we are living in Jesus and through Jesus, our life changes. We are people shaped by God’s promises. We are members of God’s family. Brothers and sisters one hundredfold. Living for His will to be done in us and through us. Life is no longer about us. We are living for the glory of the Kingdom of God. The result is we bring God’s Joy to the World!

00(Discipleship) A Compassionate Father (Psalm 103:13; Galatians 4:6) (Love)
The Prayer League headquarters is located near downtown Minneapolis. The students serving in the Discipleship House there come from all over the country. And when their service ends there, the Spirit will lead them to new places where our compassionate Father wants them to serve. As you hear these young voices today, pray for them and for others like them to be raised up for ministry in the years to come. The Discipleship House is part of the Greenhouse Collective, which also has locations at Mount Carmel (Awaken Project), Hutchinson (Faith Greenhouse), San Pedro (Trinity Greenhouse), Camrose, Canada (Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute), and Mount Carmel.

00(Irishcast) Christ Has The Words Of Eternal Life (Ps 143v8; Jn 6v68,69) (Trust)
What voices are you listening to? Our texts today point us to our Lord’s voice. But it is clear from the John reading that many followers of Jesus did not choose to listen to His voice. Peter and the others did listen but many found our Lord’s voice hard to hear. Each of us is invited to listen to our Lord. Each of us is called by God. One thing you can do is to ask the Holy Spirit to close your ears to those voices that lead you away from Jesus. Pray also for the Holy Spirit to make you receptive to hear the voice of our Good Shepherd speaking to you. As you listen to the podcast today, ask the Spirit to open your ears. And then pray that prayer we have shared many times, “Lord make me willing to be willing to do what you are telling me to do.”

00(Sundaycast) Sowing New Seeds Into The World (Isaiah 42:9; Matt 13:37 38) (Hope)
Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise in Isaiah. Jesus is the NEW THING that God is doing in the world. You and I are chosen by Jesus to follow Him to the ends of the earth. But now the ends of the earth are coming into our country, our state, our town and these are now our neighbors. What does it mean for us to pray for these people? How do we reach out to them with the love of Jesus so that they may be able to hear the good news of His death and resurrection for us? We don’t have to go as much as we once did. God the Father is sending the world to us. But we are still chosen to sow the seeds of life into these people God has sent to us. The photo today of some Mount Carmel staff and friends was redecorated by our grandchildren just to display what it may mean for us to be a new thing to the world where we live for Jesus. Maybe each of us should recreate one of our photos to help us see ourselves as a new thing which God wants to use to bless others.

00(Mission Cast) Wait On The Lord (Psalm 25:5; Matt 7:7) (Discipleship)
Today, Jeff and Mim, explore with friends, (Shaua, Regina, Barbara) how waiting upon the Lord is not doing nothing, but doing the right things while trusting God’s timing and goodness. Missionally, we ask, knock, and seek on behalf of the needs of others. ASK — regular and specific intercession for neighbors, friends, and family by name (ideally), trusting that God hears and delights in prayer. SEEK — intentional learning and listening to understand our neighbor’s stories, burdens and hopes. KNOCK — Taking concrete, specific steps of presence through visits, shared meals, service projects that truly open the doors of hearts to welcome the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first thing we can do is forgive Jeff for worrying about saying the wrong date for today’s podcast. You are forgiven Jeff!

00(J And J Cast) People Proclaim Peace (Zeph 3:14 15; Ephesians 2:170 (Peace)
The peace of Jesus fills us when we know ourselves as people so precious to God that He died for us. The picture above comes from page 188 in your “Daily Texts.” His death destroyed the hostility that takes over in us and leads to a wrecked life (Ephesians 2:14-16). When you feel that hostility surfacing in you as a result of anger at yourself (GUILT) or anger at someone else (RESENTMENT), you know your peace is missing. Find a friend. Confess your anger to God in the presence of him or her. Then let that person proclaim peace to you by declaring that your anger is absolved by Jesus Christ. (See page 189.) On the cross, Jesus becomes your anger (your guilt, your resentment) so that you can live as His peace on earth. Today, you will hear how a friend freed Julie from her anger at herself by declaring her sins are forgiven in Jesus. This is our calling on earth. We get to set people free from their guilt or resentment by forgiving their sins. Proclaim peace today!
