Forgivin' Livin' Daily Podcast
Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00(Awaken) Every Believer Starts As A Doubter (Isaiah 53:1; John 20:18) (Hope)
The Awaken Project at Mount Carmel is made up of 5 young adults who are taking this year to build their skills as followers of Jesus on the campus of Mount Carmel. In this photo, the smiley face in the center is the Director and founder of the Project, Steve Wagner. The students are in the middle of the photo. They are Alexa, Noah, Zoe, Jayden and Alex. Except for Noah who was sick last night, the other four and Steve helped create the podcast for today. Steve reminds all of us that we are welcome to do what Sonja and I did (as well as the two ladies on the left side of the photo) and participate in future study weeks with these students. How often have you uttered this question in the photo? Or perhaps you have heard people wonder “what is God’s will for my life?” Today you have an answer. The texts today clearly tell you what God wills for you. You can say them out loud. “You will restore me. You will support me. You will strengthen me. You will establish me. You will do this for me because you overflow with grace. And your grace overflows over me.”

00Angels Are One Of God’s Answers (Psalm 119:94; Acts 12:7) (Trust)
The Ukrainian camping week is coming to an end. These two pictures give you a partial glimpse of the joy that these children and many mothers have experienced in the Carpathian Mountains on the western border of Ukraine. You can imagine what it must be like to go to sleep each night there without the constant noise of the war surrounding them. Please pray for their safe return. Pray that this time away may make them bold witnesses to the power of Christ to sustain them in the midst of the battle. May they be God’s angel voices to bring courage and hope to the people in the town of Sumy. Thank you for your prayers like the one in Psalm 119, “Here they are Lord, save them!”

00(Mission Cast) Take Courage (Zechariah 8:13; John 16:33) (Hope)
Jeff and Mim discuss courage in the face of persecution. Jeff reviews the historical context of Zechariah. Israel as an independent nation-state is no more. All that is left is a remnant who go return to Jerusalem to rebuilt the temple and restore worship. The remand clings to God’s promises that one day, the Messiah will come and will restore his people. The Messiah is Jesus. Mim reflects on the courage of Chinese Christians who face persecution on a daily basis. Jeff recounts a TED Talk by Brené Brown defining courage as “speaking the deepest truth of the heart” in vulnerable situations. The deepest truth in Jeff’s heart is: “I am a beloved child of God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and nothing can now separate me from God’s love — not even death. We encourage you to read the Psalms to give expression to your heart, check out Pslam 27.

Martin Luther joins us today from his tour of doing “Table Talks” in Texas with Katie. We are always glad to get Luther to proclaim Christ to us with his gospel message even though we have to put up with a little Norwegian accent in him from time to time. But at least he is using his message to accent what a gift it is for us to receive all Christ has given to us. How can we keep from singing?

00(Theta) Hallelujah (Amos 4:13 & Revelation 19:6)
Many years ago Sonja and I hiked around Mont Blanc with our friends. In this photo taken in the morning it could be called Mont Pink instead of Blanc (white). We were overwhelmed each day with the amazing vistas and beauty of the various landscapes and peaks that surround this white crown over all the other jagged peaks. As the reading from Amos declares, we were humbled by the majesty of these mountains but more by the almighty glory of the One who created them. For this One also created you. You are created in the image of God. What splendor! What majesty! What mystery God has hidden in you. For when heaven and earth pass away, you will remain with God. Hallelujah!

00We Must Preach Forgiveness In Jesus’ Name (Psalm 79:9; Luke 24:47) (Forgiveness)
Today’s texts tell us what we must do. Jesus tells us that this is God’s will. Proclaim repentance and forgiveness in His name. Start with members of your family and see where our Lord leads you. Ask Jesus to make you willing to be willing. Know that you are doing God’s will. And God will help you. Sometimes you may have to ask your Lord to do the forgiving for you. God will help you.
