Mount Carmel is a special place where people experience compassion and by the grace of God discover the glory of the Lord for themselves. In addition to the word that is preached and taught, the experience includes the beautiful setting on Lake Carlos near Alexandria and the wonderful staff who work hard to bless the people like us who come here. But another gift comes from the other guests who share this week together. Today, one of those people is shown in the photo. She shares a story of compassion on our podcast. Her name is Gloria. She has spoken to us before. She is a marvelous servant of our Lord, who works hard with people that others often reject because she knows that through our Lord’s gift of compassion, we can bring another child to glory.
The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.
Psalm 145:9
The creation itself will be set free from its enslavement to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:21
Lord of all creation, I gratefully glimpse signs of your abundant compassion in our world. Yet within and without, I also struggle in daily bondage to death and decay. Help me no longer seek to be separate from you but yearn for the freedom of your presence. Recreate me today so that I may live as your child. Amen.
