(Floridacast) Understanding The Temptation Of Idols (Jeremiah 2:28; 1 Cor 10:14) (Trust)

The Florida cast is at Mount Rushmore today. One of the questions that comes up is, how do how are we tempted to idolize and even worship our leaders? Whatever your idea about idolatry might be the real question for each of us is how do we get free from its power when it attempts us away from God? That’s at the heart of life for each of us as we live in a world that is at war with God and we often side with the enemy instead of with God alone. How do we repent of this temptation?

Prayer

Gracious Father, I thank you for your steadfast love despite my shortcomings. I repent of chasing idols of power, pride, protection, and pleasure. Help me turn away from these distractions and fix my gaze on you. May my actions align with you alone, finding strength in your word while resisting the fleeting desires of this world. Amen.
