(Irishcast) The God Of The Highest Heaven Is To Be Worshipped (1 Kings 8v27; John 4v23)

Both these men understand worship. Bob Dylan wrote his song “Gotta serve somebody” where he says, “You’re going to have to serve somebody, Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, But you’re going to have to serve somebody.” And CS Lewis writes: “A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” The texts this week are asking us to consider who or what we worship. Martin Luther once commented on our idol worship by saying, “Your god is whatever makes you anxious when it is absent.” Now it’s up to you. You’ve heard from Bob Dylan, CS Lewis and Martin Luther. Listen to the IRISHCAST and let the Spirit change your mind to worship the most high God.

Old Testament Verse

Solomon said, Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!"
1 Kings 8:27

New Testament Verse

The hour is coming and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.
John 4:23

Prayer

Omnipotent Creator, your majesty fills the heavens and earth beyond measure. Teach me to worship you in spirit and truth like a humble river flowing steadily toward the boundless sea. May my devotion mirror the awe of mountains reaching for the sky, offering praise that resonates through the depths of my soul. Amen.
