Jeff and Mim talk about what it means to entrust (or invest) the gospel of Jesus Christ (and our spiritual gifts) into the lives of others, who are trustworthy to receive it and will teach others. The good news of forgiveness of sins and everlasting life by grace through faith in Christ Jesus is too good keep just to ourselves. It needs to be shared. We are God’s ambassadors, entrusted with the charge and mandate to go and tell others about Jesus and to make disciples. We are faithful when we, through our words and deeds, tell others of the love of God for them. It starts with a genuine, authentic and loving relationships with others as we open the scriptures together to discover and discuss the good news of Jesus Christ so that we might be accountable to each other and encourage one another as we grow more mature, day by day, as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, said the Lord.
Jeremiah 21:14
His master said to him, "Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things; I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master."
Matthew 25:21
Thank you, Jesus, for entrusting me with the riches of your grace. Forgive me when I think these blessings come from my deeds. It is an honor to be a vessel filled with your blessings. May I never hoard them or bury them in the ground. Rather, pour me out to serve you and my neighbors with joy. Amen.
