Old Testament Verse

LORD, you have been a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm.
Isaiah 25:4 NIV

New Testament Verse

While we live, we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be made visible in our mortal flesh.
2 Corinthians 4:11

Prayer

Lord of heaven and earth, I am grateful that you have always been both a person and place of refuge for me in this present life. Forgive me when I believe otherwise, undermining my trust in your love. I am a work in progress! Help me to see adversity as a spiritual pathway to experience true life. Amen.
