Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00Spirit, Tell Your Soul To Wake Up (Psalm 108:1; Acts 3:8)
The statue, “The Dancing Servant,” created by Terry Sateren, is found on the altar at Holden Village in Chelan, Washington. Holden is the Lutheran retreat center where in the 70’s both Sonja and Johan had the Living God awaken their souls. The privilege of each of us to dance as we serve comes when the forgiveness of our sins lays hold of us. Then we are free from resentment, guilt and shame. These three powers can no longer control our Body, Soul and Spirit. We need the Spirit of the Living God to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ into us daily. Our souls receive this promise. We are never the same. We cannot help but dance. Every day our prayer is that our Forgivin Livin podcast may free you from any of those prisons which resentment, guilt and shame create so that your soul is awake and free to sing, to dance and to serve.

00Knowing Who Our Shepherd Says We Are (Psalm 23: 2 3; 1 Peter 2:25)
Yesterday we were encouraged to pray as we listened to the podcast. Today we continue the simple prayer pattern of praying the scripture that we are reflecting on today. What does it mean to us that our Shepherd restores our soul? How do we let God bring us back into a relationship with Him when we are going astray? Today as we pray during or after the podcast use the time to let our Lord enter into the soul of our being to restore us to the life we were saved by grace to live.

00(Sundaycast) You Are A Trustee Kid So Trustee Your God Each Day (Nahum 1:7; Hebrews 10:35)
Would you take time today to pray this stronghold promise back to your God? Just do this for the length of the podcast you are going to listen to. Pray over and over in whatever words you choose that your God is your stronghold. You can pray this silently as you listen or out loud if you like. But pray the prayer for the length of the podcast. Longer if you like but at least for the 13 minutes of this podcast. Don’t worry! Rikka, Sonja and I won’t feel hurt that you are not dwelling on every little gem that we unearth for you. But just pray. We will talk about this more tomorrow.

00(Mission Cast) Commit Yourself To God’s Grace (Psalm 31:5; Hebrews 4:16)
Jeff and Mim discuss the word “commit” and what it means to entrust or consign oneself into the care of another. Mim also reflects on the opportunity we have to approach God boldly with our requests, because it is a throne of grace. He loves us! There are times we all feel overwhelmed by life, but God knows us intimately and provides reals help in times of need. There is so much that we cannot control, but we can strive to be faithful in all circumstances.

00Let The Words Of Jesus Give You A Prayerful Trip (Numbers 23:19; Matt 7:24)
Noah built his house on the word of God. It was his rock. But it floated when the winds blew and the floods came. A little different than what Jesus promises in Matthew but still true to His meaning since the house (the ark) survived the storm. As we start this year consider what promises of God we are trusting to support us. We will need them to give us our true foundation in all the ups and downs that will certainly be ours in 2025.

00(Theta) I Would Do It Again (Proverbs 29:25 & Luke 12:32)
While we toured Ireland and Scotland in September we spent a few hours with a shepherd, his sheep and his sheepdogs. Look at the ears and eyes of the sheep. They are looking at the shepherd and listening with their ears. They hear his voice and they can see his body. Jesus calls us his little flock. And Jesus tells us the message the angels told the shepherds, “don’t be afraid.” But why? Jesus says, “I am your good shepherd. And my Father will give you the kingdom.” After all we are sheep. How could we ever figure out how to get the kingdom on our own? So we sing a song of joy whenever we hear the shepherd’s voice and see that we are a part of His body.

00(Irishcast) Our God Forever (Psalm 48:14; John 14:6)
This prayer has helped us to humble ourselves before our Lord and seek the guidance only God can give. As we consider the end of this year and the beginning of the next, we remember all the ways our Lord has been the way, the truth and the life for us guiding us in both good and bad times. God’s faithfulness is from everlasting to everlasting. We walk with Jesus into our future with good courage, with His courage.

The wooden sculpture depicts the strong arms of Joseph surrounding Mary and Jesus in an embrace of love. God so loved the world that He gave Joseph to be a loving support to Mary and Jesus. Even though he knew this was not his son, he endured whatever it required to stand with his wife in a gracious embrace. Who has stood with you like this? Where is God asking you to embrace someone with this kind of sacrificial love? Joseph’s obedient love changed the world. Yours will also.
