Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00We Get To Live Off All God Does For Us (Isaiah 26:12; 2 Cor 13:11)
“Yes Johan, it’s not about you. We get to work through you. And we work for you. You get to rest in our labor and see all that we can accomplish without you even lifting a finger. Try just letting go and see what we can do. First of all you will experience peace. That is one of the first fruits of life with us. Peace. And it’s peace because you discover you are not under judgement and you get to act without any pressure. You do things just for the joy of serving. Joy. That is another of the fruits of letting us be God. This may surprise you Johan, but you really aren’t that good, you know. But you don't have to be. We love showing how good we can be when you aren’t. Oh and in case you forgot, that is what we call grace. We have heard there is a podcast that is grounded in it. Maybe you should listen to it and see that your Lord really is good. And good for you! So you don’t have to be. Then you will discover another of our fruits, love. And we want you to be full of it, love, especially when you are with your Thanksgiving friends and family tomorrow. Love from us, your Gang on the ground and actually everywhere.”

00(Mission Cast) What Voice Are You Trusting (Deuteronomy 18:10, 12; 1 Corinthians 15:34)
Jeff and Mim admit that sometimes the texts are difficult to discuss with insight, but, often times, the clue is in the Daily Text Prayer. Thank you to the prayer writer who listened to God on these texts! Moses challenges the people of Israel to listen only to God. We all want to know the future, but the future is in God’s hands. Trust God! When we listen to other voices we can become so inundated with differing opinions that we become “Punch Drunk.” Paul says “Sober Up!” Get your head back in the game and listen to the Shepherd’s voice. Sometimes that is easier said than done. In those times, we need to confess sin, receive forgiveness and move on.

00Jesus Frees Us (Psalm 86:11; John 8:32)
What does it mean for you to be free in Christ? What truth have you received from Jesus so that any obsessions that once ruled your life are gone? Today we will look at some of these places of darkness that are overturned in the light of Jesus. Consider some of these. Are you a perfectionist or do you live as an imperfect person? Are you an idealist or are you a realist? Are you in the flesh or in the Spirit? Are you hostile or are you forgiven? We all know that the first of these obsessions is darkness and the other is the fruit of light. But as the text says, our Lord has to teach us, to show us, so that we may walk differently. It is our prayer at Forgivin’ Livin’ that you may know the truth, the reality of Christ’s love for you, so that you may get free from whatever darkness you are under. The darkness is living under the law. It’s all about us. We all need to live in the light. This is under grace. It’s all about Jesus. “It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20). We are praying for all of us to know this truth.

00(Theta) Enlightened (Isaiah 50:10; 1 John 2:8)
Many promises in the Bible help us see the light our Lord Jesus creates in the darkness. Here is one powerful promise in Psalm 18:28-30. “[28] For it is you who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness. [29] For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. [30] This God—his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” Our picture today captures the promise of the resurrection of Jesus who broke through the darkness of death when He was raised up on the third day out of the tomb. Jesus’ name is the light that overcomes all our fears. The hymn, “Oh for a thousand tongues to sing” has the third verse beginning with this promise, “Jesus, the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease-tis music in the sinner’s ears, tis life and health and peace.” As you listen today, consider how His name is the light in your darkness. Look for ways today to proclaim the name of Jesus to someone you meet.

00(Irishcast) Jesus Frees Us And Goes With Us (Ps 124:7; Luke 6:18)
This photo was taken during our Ireland pilgrimage in September to learn more about the first Irish evangelist, Patrick. Jesus had to rescue this captive “bird” after six years as a slave in Ireland. Then Jesus walked with him for 200 miles to a strange cruise ship which brought him back to his homeland. This journey included a “luau” (pork bar-b-cue) that came as an answer to Patrick’s prayer when he and the crew were starving, several days after landing the ship. But Patrick’s rescue did not end at his former home since our Lord had more captives in store for this rescued slave to save. 20 years later our Lord took him on a pilgrimage back to his place of captivity…and Ireland has never been the same. How about you? As you listen to our modern day IRISHCAST evangelists, consider this question: Where is the Ireland that Jesus has in your future? Who are the captives that will never be the same after our Lord has helped you set them free? Ask Him to show you today.

00Rejoice Always In Good And Bad Times (Psalm 9:2; Philippians 4:4)
St Paul challenges us to rejoice always. He had many moments when he did not feel like rejoicing but as it says in this image, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” included for Paul the privilege of rejoicing. You know how hard it is to rejoice in the face of terrible trauma. Every one of us knows the “valley of the shadow of death” and how hard it is to walk there. But right after this pain, our Lord prepares “a table before us in the presence of our enemies.” (Psalm 23:4-5). Jesus helps us in the midst of our trials and gives us His joy to help us through the darkest hours. There is someone today whom you know that needs your voice and your words to encourage them in this time of their pain. Walk with them through to the table that our Lord will prepare for them.
