Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. 00(Prayer League) Life In Missions (Isaiah 60:16; 1 Tim 4:10) (Salvation)
106 members and friends of the Prayer League (WMPL) are meeting at Mount Carmel this week for renewal and encouragement in their calling to fulfill Christ’s command to pray and to be willing to be sent out. “And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.’ Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2 Each Wednesday this summer Sam Hoff will be sharing the faith stories of one of the Prayer League members who are serving at Mount Carmel for that week. Today we are introduced to the Scotts. They reflect on the propose of the Prayer League to serve because of the love of God enables which their service. Simply, they serve because of Jesus! The world is badly in need. So, just as Jesus came to set this world right, the Prayer League responds to the commands of the Word of God and go to do likewise. Compassion demands radical action. God’s fortress is the embrace which draw us close to Himself. You and I are not alone on this earth. God is with us. He surrounds us with Himself whenever we feel like we need protection. Our comfort comes from the security that God is able to give us. This comes through His word, like Psalm 23, which we speak over ourselves when we are in trouble. His embrace comes through people that the Holy Spirit leads to us to help us in our times of distress. Also, David and Cynthia have taught us to recite the Apostles Creed out loud when we feel insecure. And it may be we will sing a hymn. “Children of the Heavenly Father, safely in His bosom gather, nestling bird nor star in heaven, such a refuge e’er was given.”

Jeff and Chris (Jeff’s son-in-law) discuss what it means to run with perseverance, looking to Jesus. The Holy Spirit is person of the Trinity that gives us the grace to persevere. Jesus has run the race for us and completed the demands the LAW. His righteous is now ours. We run in complete freedom in the Spirit the race of our lives set before us, full of joy and love. We discuss the practical, incremental hindsight and disciplines of running with and toward Jesus. Chris ends the podcast playing a guitar instrumental of the hymn “Great is thy faithfulness” (page 108) in your Daily Texts. Let us run with joy!

To help you practice the GRACE way of praying, today's podcast helps you think through the texts and then write out your GRACE prayer to help you affirm the promises your God of Abundance is giving you today. G.- is for Gratitude. As you read these verses what thoughts of thanksgiving fill your heart and mind? In spite of your circumstances what words rise up in thanksgiving to God? R.- is for Regret or Repentance. What stirs in my heart out of these verses that gives me pause to confess where I missed the mark? A.-is for Absolve. Ask God to absolve you for this specific sin. C.- is for Conversation. Write out what you hear Jesus conversing with you to give you hope in His promises. This is your Shepherd's voice. Write it in the first person, Jesus says,”________…(fill in your name).” Continue to write several sentences. E.- What word beginning with "E" affirms your message for this day?

00(Carmelcast) Sent With God’s Strength (Joshua 1:9; 2 Cor 1:9 10) (Trust)
Every servant of God needs the strength of our Lord Jesus to fulfill the service to which one is called. The photo shows the staff at Mt Carmel during their time of preparing for their summer ministry. Even in their preparation, there are challenges for which they need God’s strength to help them. They are learning one key thought, and that is to learn to trust and encourage each other. Joshua was in a time of preparation when the Lord gave him these words of encouragement. St Paul had already been involved in the outreach of his ministry when he wrote these words. He says “we felt” to remind us that God calls us to go out in His name with others. You are not alone. God is with you.

00(Irishcast) We Belong To God (Gen 32v1 Acts 27 V 23,24) (Identity)
Whenever Angels appear to followers of God, the one consistent message is “do not be afraid.” There is more of course that the Angel tells Paul about what is in his future. The Angel also brings assurance to Jacob who will soon face God in the night before he is reconciled to his brother Esau. Angels are messengers God uses to help us in our life of following our Lord. Hebrews is the one letter in the New Testament with lots of references to angels. In chapter 13:2 it reminds us that angels may be disguised as strangers you welcome into your home. Let God help you see all the ways that angels are on earth to help you follow Jesus.
