Our podcasts are 5-8 minutes in length. We create these messages using one or two brief verses from the Bible that come from a devotional book. Our purpose is to help you hear the grace of Jesus in these verses so that your life may find its grounding in Christ alone. It is this grounding in grace that makes forgivin’ livin’ your way of freedom.

00(J And J Cast) People Proclaim Peace (Zeph 3:14 15; Ephesians 2:170 (Peace)
The peace of Jesus fills us when we know ourselves as people so precious to God that He died for us. The picture above comes from page 188 in your “Daily Texts.” His death destroyed the hostility that takes over in us and leads to a wrecked life (Ephesians 2:14-16). When you feel that hostility surfacing in you as a result of anger at yourself (GUILT) or anger at someone else (RESENTMENT), you know your peace is missing. Find a friend. Confess your anger to God in the presence of him or her. Then let that person proclaim peace to you by declaring that your anger is absolved by Jesus Christ. (See page 189.) On the cross, Jesus becomes your anger (your guilt, your resentment) so that you can live as His peace on earth. Today, you will hear how a friend freed Julie from her anger at herself by declaring her sins are forgiven in Jesus. This is our calling on earth. We get to set people free from their guilt or resentment by forgiving their sins. Proclaim peace today!

00(Hudsoncast) Rejoicing In Our Sufferings (Judges 6:13; 1 Peter 1:6 7) (Trust)
Rejoicing greatly was part of the lifestyle of these prisoners of war who spent 1145 days in prison camps in the Philippines. This photo was taken 10 days after they were freed by the American army. You can see some of the soldiers in the photo rejoicing greatly at the rescue of these American citizens. My mother and eldest sister were part of this community of people in the photograph. Their survival was a miracle. But singing hymns of praise in the midst of their suffering kept their hope alive. One of the most powerful messages that they hung onto was from the hymn written by Georg Neumark, “IF THOU BUT SUFFER GOD TO GUIDE THEE.” He not only lived during the terrible 30 years war but he was robbed once and another time had all his possessions lost in a fire. His hymns expressed his trust in God through all his adversities. What hymns do you sing in the midst of your sufferings to keep your faith focused on your Lord?

00Obeying The Spirit’s Leading (Psalm 100:3; Acts 11:18) (Discipleship)
TAKE A FEW MINUTES TODAY TO MEDITATE ON THESE TEXTS THAT REVEAL GOD THE FATHER’S ROLE IN CREATING REPENTANCE IN US. (Acts 5:31-32) “God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” (Acts 11:18) When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” (Romans 2:4) Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (2 Timothy 2:25b-26) God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

00(Mission Cast) The Mind Set On The Flesh Creates Death (Deuteronomy 5:21; Gal 5:16,17) (Repentance)
Jeff and Mim discuss the concept of DESIRE. The unredeemed human heart is by nature corrupted and sinful and is SELF-oriented (not GOD-oriented). The heart is full of all kinds of desires: lust, greed, envy, pride, wrath, and sloth. For a complete list refer to Galatians 5:19-21. The Apostle Paul tells us that “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:25). And the life we live in freedom from guilt and condemnation, we live by the Spirit. James teaches us that “Each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.” (James 1:14). We talk a little about our desire to be faithful grandparents to our grandchildren.

00Jesus Commands Us To Pray (Jeremiah 9:7; Luke 22:40) (Discipleship)
How many times does God tell us in the Bible to ask Him for help? Probably on every page. But today, the word is simple. ASK. SEEK. KNOCK. PRAY. Nothing is too small for you to call on the name of the Lord for help. The Holy Spirit is our helper. He is ready to help. Just PRAY! Pray especially when you think you know better. This is our great temptation. To think we can do it alone. NO. You need help. God is your helper. Pray.

00(Carmelcast) The Power To Endure (Daniel 11:32; Rev 3:7,10) (Discipleship)
Our Ukrainian pastor and wife, Ivan and Zhenya Lemak, are in the midst of a terrible time of endurance as they serve Christ and His Kingdom in Sumy, Ukraine. They continue to minister creatively. They took 40 teenagers to a 7 day camp in July. Many of the children lost their parents. Some were injured. Some of them have been studying online for 7 years... because their schools were bombed. Each of them needs to find Jesus to give them the right path for their lives. Please pray for the ongoing blessing for these youth as they return home for the hard battle of standing firm for Jesus in the midst of a terrible war. They all need a deeper relationship with their Lord. We know this time with other young adult believers was life changing. They got to know Christ, the Hope of our lives! Remember to party for the persecuted believers around the world.

00(Prayer League) The God Who Suffers With You (Ps 42:3; Phil 1:13 14) (Faithfulness)
We are thankful this summer that each week members of the Prayer League have introduced us to ministry around the world that is shaped by the prayerful commitment of its members. The League has thousands of members who keep praying for those like the people we have met this summer. All of us are encouraged to become members of this league of people who are willing to pray. You can join a community of Prayer League members on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month as the photo above states. To be included just send an email to the League at mobilize@wmpl.org to receive an invitation as we ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8) and pray for harvest workers (Luke 10:2). We have been remembering the persecuted church this week. These Tuesday meetings would give you the opportunity to pray for those suffering for the faith of Jesus Christ wherever they are in the world. We all know that we may be next on someone’s list.
