Shofar surprises us with the sound of hope MISSION CAST (Jeremiah 39:18; Luke 23:43)
Shofar weekend!
Passover proclamation!
The Lamb has conquered!
The Shofar will be sounded again today and on Sunday. You heard it first on Thursdays with Theta.
The Shofar is used for Jewish religious ceremonies like Passover. (It starts Monday the 22nd this year.) During the Passover, the Priests sounded the Shofar three times for three different parts of the Temple ceremony.
These blasts focused attention on the sacrifice of blood, the blood of the lamb. The sound of the Shofar is the sound of freedom from slavery in Egypt.
We blast the Shofar three times in our three podcasts to remember our Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God, whose blood has freed us from our sins.
For freedom Christ has set us free!
The Lamb who was slain has begun His reign!
Hallelujah!
(The photo was taken a week ago on a hill in Norway where our friend Brock sounded the Shofar. You will hear him blast the Shofar on Sunday’s podcast.)
